About Inspeq:
Inspeq is a SaaS platform for inspections, asset management, and work orders. It’s designed for heavy equipment rental, mining, and construction companies, enabling them to manage operations more efficiently with modular, configurable workflows and AI-powered features like Remote Workorders (live remote guidance) and AI Discrepancy Reports.
Role Overview:
We are looking for a Head of Engineering to own engineering strategy and end-to-end delivery for our product-based company. This role is accountable for engineering outcomes, delivery predictability, and long-term technical sustainability across all products.
You will own system design, infrastructure, technical decision-making, and execution excellence across backend, frontend, mobile, DevOps, and QA teams, working closely with Product and Design to build scalable, secure, and compliant products.
Key Responsibilities:
Own engineering architecture, system design, and infrastructure decisions across all products
Lead backend, frontend, mobile, DevOps, and QA under a unified engineering function
Drive end-to-end product delivery from architecture through to production
Define and own delivery cadence, planning, milestones, and execution discipline
Design and review scalable, high-availability, and resilient system architectures
Own cloud infrastructure, deployments, scalability, reliability, and cost optimization
Ensure engineering quality, performance, security, and compliance (e.g. GDPR)
Own production reliability, incident management, post-mortems, and continuous improvement
Collaborate closely with Product and Design to ensure smooth execution and clear ownership
Define engineering standards, processes, and long-term technical vision
Own technical debt strategy and platform health across products
Evaluate and manage third-party tools, vendors, and technology partners
Core Technical & Leadership Requirements:
7+ years of hands-on engineering experience with at least 3 years in a leadership role
Strong backend experience with Node.js, NestJS, and SQL & NoSQL databases
Frontend experience with React, React Native, and Next.js
Deep hands-on experience with AWS infrastructure, including:
ECS, EC2, ECR, API Gateway, Load Balancers, Lambda
Strong experience with Docker and CI/CD pipelines
Proven expertise in system design, distributed systems, and infrastructure architecture
Experience or strong working knowledge of OpenAI integrations and Generative AI systems
Strong understanding of compliance, data protection, and secure system design
Experience scaling SaaS products (users, data, teams, or revenue)
Experience leading distributed or remote engineering teams
Strong stakeholder communication skills
Leadership & Product Engineering:
Proven ability to hire, lead, and scale cross-functional engineering teams
Strong ownership of end-to-end product engineering and delivery
Ability to make clear, high-impact technical and architectural decisions
Comfortable balancing speed, quality, and long-term sustainability
Hands-on when needed, without becoming a bottleneck
